A Georgian judoka has been given a severe punishment for his unsportsmanlike conduct toward French judo hero Teddy Riner at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Georgia's Guram Tusishvili was given a red card and disqualified for "conduct against the spirit of judo" during the quarterfinals of the men's +100kg class at the Champ de Mars in Paris, France on the 2nd (Korean time). Tusishvili, who
lost to Riner that day, was seen lying on the ground and extending his leg toward Riner's vital spot, before knocking Riner to the ground and putting his hand on his face.
The International Judo Federation (IJF) took immediate action in response to Tusishvili's outrageous behavior.
After the match, the disciplinary committee announced that Tusishvili would be suspended from the mixed team event on the 3rd. Tusishvili
was also suspended from all international judo competitions until the IJF conducted a further investigation and made a final decision. Meanwhile,
Riner, who had suffered a shocking incident, defeated Korea's Kim Min-jong in the final and won his fourth Olympic gold medal. After the match, he expressed his intention to compete in the 2028 Los Angeles (LA) Olympics as well. 바카라사이트
