Deoksu High School was chosen as the top candidate for this year's championship by scouts from 10 professional baseball teams. 8 out of 10 people predicted Deoksu High School to win. Deoksu High School, which is attempting to win this tournament for the first time in 7 years after losing twice in a row in 2016 and 2017, has been on a 22-game winning streak in official games of the Korea Baseball Softball Association (KBSA) since last year, including winning the Seoul Region A championship in the first half of the weekend league by winning all 6 games.
