50.65 seconds 0.03 seconds shorter than the record he set two years ago

American track and field star Sydney McLaughlin has set a new world record in the women's 400m hurdles at the 2024 Paris Olympics U.S. Track and Field Trials.

McLaughlin crossed the finish line first with a time of 50.65 seconds in the women's 400m hurdles final at the U.S. track and field trials held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, U.S. on the 1st (Korean time).

With this, McLaughlin has shortened her previous world record of 50.68, set at the 2022 World Athletics Championships held at the same venue in July 2022, by 0.03 seconds.

Anna Cockrell (52.64 seconds) and Jasmine Jones (52.77 seconds) in second and third place respectively also earned tickets to Paris along with McLaughlin.
